SACHA FARNSWORTH

Sacha Farnsworth has had a love affair with dogs from the time she was very young. She grew up going to shows with her mother, Carolyn Farnsworth of Lyndale Kennel. Sacha started showing at the age of seven and completed her first Championship with a Bichon Frise at the age of nine.

Since then she has completed championships on Standard Poodles, Miniature Poodles and Bichon Frises as a professional handler, but her personal love is the Bichon Frise.

She presently has a grooming business in Westchester County outside of NYC.

CAROLYN FARNSWORTH

Lyndale Kennels was founded in 1953 in Grand Rapids, MI by Carolyn Farnsworth and has been at home in South Carolina for over 20 years.

Carolyn, who has shown and bred dogs since her teenage years, still enjoys seeing her dogs in the show ring and in retirement running the fields and playing in the garden.

With a record of over 150 AKC champions, the  emphasis has always been on sound temperaments, healthy dogs, and a happy lifestyle. All genetic testing available is routinely done on all dogs and puppies and updated as necessary. All dogs and puppies are guaranteed free of genetic disorders, and will be replaced if any such condition arises.

Lyndale Kennels is located in Landrum, S.C. on five rolling acres in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The kennel is nestled in the Hunting Country, right off the border of North and South Carolina (exit #1 off I-26). It is half-way between Asheville N.C. and Spartanburg, S.C.

BREEDING GOALS AT LYNDALE KENNEL

POODLES

Lyndale Kennel has always used the AKC breed standard as its model for breeding their Poodles.

Some characteristics that we are very dedicated to in our breeding program, whether it is a Standard Poodle or a Miniature Poodle is a strong face, pretty almond eyes with an intelligent look, good depth of chest, a good ear set that frames the face, correct angulations in the shoulder and a strong driving rear, with good angulation.

We try to always maintain good temperament, body structure and the wonderful working ability that the Poodle is known for.

BICHON FRISES

The Bichon Frise originated from the canary Islands off the coast of Spain. they were originally used as circus dogs. The true temperament of the Bichon Frise is clown like and full of the love of life.

Since European Breeders have strictly adhered to the original dog, Lyndale Kennel chose to purchase original breeding stock from Europe. We have also crossed some of our dogs with some of the Bichon Frise bloodlines of Brazil.

We breed a smaller Bichon Frise. Our Bichons are around 10" at the shoulder and weigh around 10 pounds. We strive for dark pigment, dark eye color, good fronts, with functional shoulder angles and good rears.

We test for hip dysplasia, stifle problems and eye testing for juvenile cataracts, which are found in the Bichon Frise breed.
